For the fourth week of advent we look at the Shepherds, the social outcasts of Jesus’ day and consider the signicance that they are the ones who recieve the news of Jesus’ brith first.

For the third week of Advent we look at the character of Zechariah, often overlooked in the Christmas story. His words echo the desire for peace, and as Christmas takes our attention to Bethlehem 2000 years ago, we lament the lack of peace in Bethlehem today.

When Moses meets God on holy ground at the burning bush, Moses learns God’s holy name – I AM – a name that God says is a memorial for the generations. This Remembrance Sunday we think of memorials for the generations in a different sense, and reflect on the importance of remembering *well*
