As Ezra’s Judeans are allowed to finish rebuilding the Temple, we ask what sort of a community and people it is that we want to build.
Let us worship God.
As Ezra’s Judeans are allowed to finish rebuilding the Temple, we ask what sort of a community and people it is that we want to build.
Let us worship God.
We continue through the book of Ezra and find the Judeans who are rebuilding the Temple hitting a snag – not everyone is happy about what they are doing.
But how much of the conflict was inevitable and how was of the Judeans’ own making? And what stories do we tell about the folk we just don’t get on with?
Let us worship God.
As we continue journey through Ezra with the Judeans returning from exile, we witness their happiness as they lay the foundation for the Temple.
But it’s not cheering and joy for everyone…
No matter how we feel, God is there for us.
Let’s worship God.
As we delve into a lesser-known part of the bible, we come across Ezra who help God’s people work out how to rebuild their lives after a time of exile and upheaval. Might we have lessons to learn from their experience?
Let’s worship God.
As we finish our mini-series thinking about the things we do in worship and why, we ask the ‘So what?’ question – what do we do having encountered God?
And the answer will always be: Love.
Let’s worship God…
