The Walking Group meets on the Second Saturday of Every Month – All Welcome!

Aberlour Walking Group is a welcoming group, open to everybody in the community. Our aim is to combine walking with an opportunity to meet and chat with other walkers, and to introduce walkers to some new areas. Children are welcome, and so are dogs, under adult supervision. We usually stop for a quick tea/coffee enroute, so please bring a flask and wear walking boots or strong shoes. Come ready to start the walks at 9:30am. If you need more information or help with transport please contact Donald (contact details below). Please confirm with Donald that you are coming on any walk.

  • 7th June 2025: Delnahaitnach circular walk

Start point: From Aberlour, travel along A95 to Grantown, turn right on A938 through Dulnain Bridge to Carrbridge. At Carrbridge, turn left into Carrbridge on B9153, and then turn right immediately after the River Dulnain (& Park Horse bridge), signed to Carrbridge
Station. Follow this road to the end (just over wooden bridge) – parking on left. Total distance – 34 miles from Aberlour Church.

Route: The route follows a rough shooting estate track to the top of Cairn Sleamhuinn (and then back down). It provides excellent views throughout the walk. We will stop for tea/coffee at the top. The route is physical, and not suitable for dogs.

    Distance: 11.34km (361m ascent).

  • 10th May 2025: Rosehearty (Wastard circular) walk

The May walk was a circular around Rosehearty.

  • 12th April 2025: Bin of Cullen circular walk

Start point: Travel on A98 from Fochabers and through Cullen, or on B9018 from Keith. Parking is at Cullen Auld Kirk Car Park (see map below).

Route: This follows wide, mostly gentle, forestry tracks and paths (only about 100m may be moist). The final 1km+ is on a slightly steeper path to the Bin of Cullen Trig pillar. We will probably return on a higher track that runs parallel to the route out.

    Distance: 12.7km (325m ascent).
