Sunday School – Sadly we have now had to suspend Sunday School as, following advice from the Church of Scotland re Corona Virus, the Session has agreed that there will be no church services or meetings until further notice. This also means that the bake sale on 22nd March is now cancelled. We will keep you updated via text as normal and updates on the church website, and on Facebook. Our programme will still go ahead, just a little later than originally planned. Thank you for your support. As always the children’s safety is our priority.
Sunday School usually meets in Aberlour Parish Church on Sunday mornings at 11.15 am and then moves over to the Station Tearoom for activities until approximately 12.30 pm. All children aged 5 and over are welcome; we are a small but very friendly group!
The children enjoy a range of games, activities and teaching and we’re currently working our way through the Beatitudes.
To raise funds for the summer trip we have planned a few fundraising events. On Sunday 22nd March we are asking everyone to bring along some homebaking/traybake to sell in Church. We will set up a table at the back of church and the children will be responsible for pricing, selling and counting the profit (with a little help if needed!).
Sundays 29th March, 5th and 12th April – no Sunday School as it’s school holidays.
Saturday 23rd May – SPONSORED CYCLE – our second fundraiser for the trip. We plan to start at Fiddich car park in Craigellachie, cycling beyond Aberlour towards Carron until our legs get tired when we’ll stop for lunch and decide whether to go further or just return to Church!
As usual, pizza and salad tea will be provided in Aberlour Church afterwards for everyone who took part. Sponsor sheets will be available soon – remember it’s not a competition to see who can raise the most, it’s a team effort.
Please ensure your child’s bike is in full working order and everyone must wear a cycling helmet. Parents are welcome to join us!
Saturday 30th May – BIG SUMMER TRIP to the Huntly Falconry Centre in the morning and then on to Huntly Nordic Ski Centre in the afternoon for tubing and a Nordic skiing taster session. We’ll also have a chippy tea. Full info and permission forms will be available soon.
Sunday 31st May – our last session before the summer holidays, which will include prize giving at the beginning of the Church service.
Sunday School will resume after the school summer holidays on Sunday 23rd August.
