    As we worship this week, we find in the appointed readings for the week the prophet Jeremiah weeping for the poor and hungry of his day; while the letter of 1 Timothy speaks of praying for kings and for leaders. Doesn’t it seem like both themes have huge relevance for today?

    As we worship this week, marking the death of a Queen whose faith has been the bedrock of her life and service, we turn to hear a parable of Jesus which talks of the overwhelming searching love of God the Good Shepherd. Our worship includes a prayer from the Moderator of the General Assembly.
